Du-kaan by Saima Mannan

Du-kaan has been a dream of mine for sometime, it is slowing becoming a reality! With my professional back ground in Marketing and Advertising, I find myself facing a gap in the market - Shopping online isn't for everyone, especially when purchasing an outfit for a special occasion or any outfit for that matter. From experience, what you see online is not always the best illustration of quality, material, embroidery or style and cut.

I am like many thousands of British Pakistani women from professional backgrounds who find themselves searching for unique and chic Pakistani outfits from Pakistani designers at central London locations.

The British Pakistani woman is fashion focused and conscious of Pakistan fashion houses, this is thanks to social media! We are constantly seeing current trends and collections being streamed through various channels such as Instagram and Facebook, the UK clientele is always anxiously waiting for these to be available in the UK.

In my opinion the UK client is always seasons behind when it comes to designer collections, this is purely due to limited access to these fashion houses on the UK high street.

Du-kaans solution

Both my appreciation and desperation for Pakistani fashion inspires me to bring Pakistans' chicest and accomplished designers to the UK and make their Pret and Party wear accessible to the British Pakistani clientele as well as the international clientele. The likes of; HSY, Tena Durrani, Zara Shahjahan, Elan, Sana Safinaz, Depak Parwani to say the least are some of the designers that are hard to come by.

Du-kaans solution is to represent designers in stand alone or Pop up concept stores in Central London.

No doubt die hard fans will be rushing to purchase some of the most versatile and covet pieces from these well seasoned designers!
